A Local's Guide to Dining in Jackson Hole

I’m not a fancy gal when it comes to dining out.

I tend to frequent the more affordable, mid-range dining options that offer great ambiance and quality/unique food. I’m often asked where to eat in Jackson, and even though it's hard to choose from all my hometown favorites, I finally narrowed it down to my top seven. There’s no reason you can’t eat out on a budget when visiting Jackson Hole - most locals do. Here are my top "affordable" Jackson restaurants. I tried to choose a wide range of dining options, so there's a little something for everyone. I promise your taste buds will thank you!

Coffee & Breakfast

Cowboy Coffee
Cowboy Coffee has been voted Best Coffee Shop in Wyoming by Business Insider. They have the best coffee in town, plus great breakfast and lunch sandwiches. My go-to is the Americano and Granger breakfast sandwich. The coffee shop’s decorated with old barn wood and local art for sale lining the walls. They also have comfy couches to lounge in as you enjoy your cup o’ joe while reading a good book, catching up on some emails or chatting with friends.

Make sure to say “Hey” to Pete and Rob, the owners that’ll be brewing your coffee. And don’t forget to buy a bag of coffee to bring home from your travels so you can wake up to a taste of Jackson!

*Gluten-free bread options.

Nora’s Fish Creek Inn
Looking for a true Wyoming home-cooked breakfast? Nora’s Fish Creek Inn is the spot! It’s where locals flock and is one of the few places you’ll see them “patiently” waiting in a line for longer than 10 minutes. This James Beard Award-winning restaurant was family-owned for more than 35 years and still has that old Jackson feel. They’re famous for their huevos rancheros and banana bread French toast, but you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.

Cozy up in Nora’s log cabin to eat amongst some of Jackson’s finest locals. You’ll want to eat there every morning you’re in Jackson!

Lunch

Pearl Street Bagels
The number of Pearl St. Bagels I’ve eaten in my lifetime is something I’d rather not think too hard about. My siblings and I must have had an after-school bagel here at least three out of five school days. They are a bagel bakery with two locations – one on Pearl Avenue in East Jackson and the other in downtown Wilson.

Their fresh bagels are everything. Order a bagel with their homemade cream cheese (veggie’s my fave) or make a sandwich from their large selection of bagel flavors. They’re perfect to take with you on a hike in Grand Teton or Yellowstone National Park.

Bin 22
This one is for all those wine lovers out there – Bin 22 is a small wine shop and liquor store with a full restaurant located in the back. Sit at one of their communal tables and enjoy one or several of their European-style small plates. I recommend the bacon-wrapped dates, meat and cheese plate, and Spanish salad.

You can order wine by the glass or browse the shop for your desired bottle of wine! There’s no corkage fee, so if you don’t finish your bottle, you can take it home. Bin 22 is located a few blocks off the Town Square and is a great spot for lunch, drinks with friends or dinner.

Local tip: Buy a tub of their famous ice cream sandwiches on your way out!

Dinner

Teton Tiger
On Friday nights you’ll likely find me posted up at the Teton Tiger bar. This is my absolute favorite place to stop in for a pre-dinner drink. It by far has my favorite drink menu in Jackson, and they’re constantly coming up with new and delicious concoctions. But the menu doesn’t just include delicious drinks – the food is incredible too. Their dishes range from Thai to Chinese to Korean to Indian – with a little something for everyone.

Hands-down I vote Tiger the coolest interior and ambiance in Jackson, with their stylish bar, large booths for groups and all-around great service. They always have a special on their Instagram, so don’t forget to check it out.

*Vegan and gluten-free options.

King Sushi
Having dinner at King Sushi is always a treat. It’s definitely the priciest restaurant on my list, but still worth the splurge. They’re located off the Town Square in an adorable historic log cabin. They make some of the most flavorful, fresh and delicious sushi I’ve ever eaten. They also serve fresh sushi, sashimi, noodles and rice bowls, and have a tasty drink menu! My usual go-to order is the Alpen Glow co*cktail, crispy rice, JuJu roll and the Theo roll (my favorite roll).

There’s limited seating in the small log cabin, so be sure to make a reservation!

*Gluten-free options.

Hand Fire Pizza
What is better than a menu of just pizzas? Hand Fire Pizza is a casual family-friendly restaurant that serves the most delicious wood fired pizzas.

Hand Fire Pizza is located right off the Town Square in the historic Teton Theater building. The Teton Theater was actually built by my great grandpa, Bruce Porter, in 1941, so it holds a very special place in my heart. My dad recently restored the iconic building – my favorite part of the restoration is the iconic marquee that has been returned to its original glory.

One of the most popular pizzas is the Meatbawls, which is made using Jackson Hole Hereford Ranch beef from my family’s cattle ranch. I promise it won’t disappoint!

*Gluten-free and dairy-free cheese options.
