Suddenly, the imposing figure of Alpha Kilian strode towards Chris, his eyes filled with a mix of anger and anxiety. Chris, taken aback by the sudden confrontation, had no clue what he had said to trigger such a reaction. All he wanted was a fair chance to present his proposal.
"Alpha Morris, my team and I have put in endless hours of work on this proposal," Chris pleaded, hoping to appeal to his rationality. "It's important to me, and I hope you'll give us a chance. Don't dismiss our hard work just because of a woman!"
But Alpha Kilian didn't even bother listening to his words. Instead, he roared, "Who did you mention just now?"
Confused, Chris furrowed his brow in bewilderment. Even Lara, who stood nearby, couldn't understand what could cause such agitation in their leader.
"What's the deal with that woman's name?" Alpha Kilian demanded, his voice laced with intensity.
"Nelly?" Chris blurted out unsurely.
Nelly... the name struck a chord.
"It's Nelly, not Sally?" Alpha Kilian pressed, emphasizing each syllable.
Chris nodded tentatively, uncertain of the significance of this revelation.
A cold smirk crept onto Alpha Kilian's lips. Very well. How dare she deceive him?
Before Chris could utter another word, Alpha Kilian stormed off, leaving everyone in confusion. Lara quickly followed after him, concerned about the sudden change in demeanor.
"Where are you going, Alpha Kilian? We have important meetings after this," Lara called out, her voice filled with worry.
But Alpha Kilian didn't even spare a glance, leaving Lara standing there, unable to comprehend what had just transpired. She shot a hostile look at Chris, demanding answers.
"What's the matter with Nelly?" she snapped, her frustration apparent.
Chris, just as perplexed as Lara, replied honestly, "I don't know. She just joined our company on Monday after returning from overseas."
Overseas? Did they have a history together?
Lara felt her frustration grow, not understanding why all sorts of women seemed to entice Alpha Kilian. It wasn't the ones who were after his wealth that she feared, as money could easily drive them away. It was the women who didn't care for his riches, the ones he admired. Suddenly, Lara felt threatened.
Without uttering another word, she returned to the office, her face clouded with gloom.
Meanwhile, Chris was left standing there, lost and unsure of what to do. All he had wanted was a fair chance, but instead, it seemed he had only worsened the situation.
Just then, Tommy and Ross rushed over, concern etched on their faces as they saw Chris walking out disappointedly.
"Are you alright?" Tommy asked, his voice filled with genuine worry.
Chris shook his head, unable to put his feelings into words.
"You didn't anger Mr. Morris, did you?" Tommy continued, fearing the consequences of provoking their powerful leader.
Chris remained silent, his mind filled with uncertainty about the extent of Alpha Kilian's anger.
"Chris, I know you need the money, but no matter the desperation, this isn't the way to handle the situation. We can't afford to mess around with Morris Corporation. They could erase us from this industry with a single word," advised Tommy, his tone filled with caution.
Without a word, Chris continued walking, his head hung low.
Recognizing his cue, Ross signaled for Tommy to stop speaking, and they both made their way back to the office together.
Meanwhile, Nelly, unaware of the commotion, headed back to the office after collecting a document. Unexpectedly, someone grabbed her wrist, causing her to jolt with surprise. When she regained her composure, she found herself face to face with the furious Alpha Kilian.
"What are you doing, Alpha Kilian?" Nelly demanded, trying to free her hand from his grip.
"Oh, do you recognize me now?" Alpha Kilian rebuked, a cold smirk playing on his lips.
Realizing his intentions were far from good, Nelly attempted to fling his hand away. "Everyone knows who the CEO of Morris Corporation is. Please let go!"
Ignoring her pleas, Alpha Kilian forcefully dragged her away.
"Alpha Kilian, do you know you're essentially kidnapping me? Everyone is watching!" Nelly exclaimed, her voice filled with urgency.
"Nelly, before I lose my cool completely, it's in your best interest not to anger me," he growled, dragging her away as the eyes of their colleagues watched.
Someone quickly recorded the scene and sent it to the company's group chat, turning Nelly into the center of yet another scandal.
Recognizing the vast difference in strength between them, Nelly stopped struggling, realizing resistance was futile.
Once they reached an empty corner, Alpha Kilian pressed her against the wall, his anger burning brightly.
"Where are my children, Nelly?" he demanded furiously, his gaze piercing into her soul.
Confused, Nelly glanced up at him, a distant look in her eyes. While she used to be direct and fiery in the past, the passage of time had transformed her. "What children?" she replied nonchalantly, massaging her reddened wrist.
Realizing that she already knew he had discovered the truth, Alpha Kilian couldn't contain his frustration any longer. "You were pregnant when we divorced. Why didn't you tell me?" he asked, his voice filled with years of pent-up turmoil.

"If it wouldn't have changed anything, what's the point of knowing the truth? It would only have burdened you," she replied, her smile becoming even more pronounced, as if she was being considerate of his emotions.
There was a change in Nelly, a detachment from the past. Her beauty was stunning, yet unfamiliar.
"Nelly, stop denying it. Where are the children?" Alpha Kilian pressed, his voice filled with desperation.
Nelly answered casually, her words like daggers to his heart. "I've aborted them."
"What did you say?" Alpha Kilian's voice trembled with disbelief.
Taking in his shocked expression, Nelly couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. After all the resentment she had endured over the years, this moment of revenge felt exhilarating and gratifying.
"Nelly, I'll never forgive you!" Alpha Kilian roared, his fists clenched in anger.
But Nelly remained unmoved, unperturbed by his threats.
"The feeling is mutual," she replied coolly, her gaze holding an indescribable hatred.

Releasing her, he uttered with finality, "Nelly, you denied me the right to know the truth, and you don't have the authority to decide for me. It's my choice whether I become a good father or not. Your actions only represent yourself. You owe me and the children that much."
But Nelly couldn't have cared less about his words.
"I'll take care of the kids myself," she muttered to herself, her voice filled with determination.
